I get the whole flock idea but think you picked some of the wrong people to pick on. Makimaki is DoshDosh and has done more to help grow the social sites than most. BabyMan just happens to digg A-LOT so of course a 'flock' will watch and follow. Msaleem is near iconic level online.
You should have really 'dugg deeper' there are flocks that help and flocks that hurt. You aim is bad but your shooting in the right place.
I have to agree with Stacie.
I know some of these people personally. They are not doing anything malicious - they just happen to be popular. That's not their "fault."
Digidave, are you really going to try to use the "sorry for being popular" excuse? Listen to what your saying. Why are you acting like they were born into "popularity?" You're just as much a sheep to these people as anyone! Your acting like the ugly girl who gets let in to the popular clique because her parents don't care if they drink at her house. It's totally their fault, but you obviously don't see it. Sheep like you can't help but tag along.
Stacie, I understand that there are flocked stories that can also be important, but usually on Digg if the stories are important then they get submitted multiple times. You honestly think no one is going to digg something if y'all don't? You think you are helping, when in fact all you are doing is turning Digg into another bland, soulless mass media outlet, where y'all act as gatekeepers as you shepherd around these Diggers, who don't think twice about the value of the Digg. Yeah, I know these guys are your "icons," that's why I'm doing this.
